NODUS NAVIGATOR
Privacy Policy
The short version: Nodus Navigator collects nothing. Your navigation history lives in memory for the current session only, never touches a server, and is discarded when the pane closes. The add-in has no accounts, no analytics, no cookies, and no tracking.
What Nodus Navigator does
Nodus Navigator is a task pane add-in for Microsoft Excel that records the cells you select during a session so you can step back and forward through them, like browser history. It is published by Nodus Tax Technologies (“Nodus”, nodustax.com).
Data we collect
None. The add-in does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, workbook content, or usage data. Specifically:
- Navigation history (the addresses of cells you visit) is held in memory inside the task pane for the current session only. It is never written to disk, never embedded in your workbook, and never sent over the network. Closing the pane or Excel discards it.
- Workbook contents are never read beyond the address and label of the currently selected cell, and never leave Excel.
- No cookies, no analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, no sign-in.
Network activity
The add-in makes no network calls of its own. The only requests your machine makes are the ones inherent to loading the add-in:
-
Static application files (HTML, JavaScript, images) are served from
GitHub Pages (
nodustax.github.io), operated by GitHub. GitHub may log requests (such as IP addresses) per the GitHub Privacy Statement. -
The Office.js library loads from Microsoft’s CDN
(
appsforoffice.microsoft.com), per the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Neither request includes anything from your workbook or your history.
Permissions
The add-in runs with Excel’s standard task pane document permission. It uses that access solely to observe which cell is selected and to select cells when you navigate back or forward. It does not modify the contents of your workbook.
Changes to this policy
If the add-in’s behavior ever changes in a way that affects privacy, this page will be updated and the effective date revised. The add-in is open source, so every change is publicly auditable in the GitHub repository.
